The company was founded by experienced oil industry professionals with a background in equipment design and system integration.

Background

In recent years there have been step changes in the growth and introduction of new technologies within the field of Produced Water Treatment. This has in part been due to changes in regulations (e.g. Ospar), improved international environmental policies by operators, a greater understanding and acceptance of western technologies in Middle East and Russia and rapidly increasing water production rates.

The new technologies are numerous, but are generally along the lines of being more compact, or reducing oil-in-water discharge levels to an all time low. Nearly all of them have a place in the market, but none of them are the miracle cure. With these many new technologies being pushed heavily in the market by product supply companies Enhydra was in part established to act as an independent expert and bridge the chasm between the product companies and the contractors and operators.

Throughout their careers the key consultants at Enhydra have worked on many projects, for many applications in many parts of the world. They have been intimately involved in the pioneering and development of many new processes and technologies. This has resulted in many issued patents, published papers and chairing of conferences as a world leading authority.
